scrap-vestibule (artifacted vest)

Do you have words that routinely float into your head? Vestibule is one of mine. Not really ever attached to any meaning; I think it's just a nice sound and shape and feels good as a word. I'm always looking for reasons to use it, even if I have to make them up. (see also: cantilever)
I hand-built scrap-vestibule from a variety of hand dyed snippets of linen and cotton in mustards and golds. And then embellished (re-embellished?) it with some bits of peachy-pink thread plus three matching hand-stitched patches. Raw, frayed, deliciously scrappy. It has adjustable straps. There's a secret lentil tag hidden under one of the panels.
I've layered it in the outfit shown below as a serving suggestion. The dress, necklace, scarf and bag are available separately.
Artifacting. That's my term for making a new piece of clothing that appears to be old. Here's what I've written about the process.
particulars:
• rough size: Medium - go by the dress form measurements below. As you san see it's not quite big enough to meet in the front on the Size 14 form. Length is 16 to 20 inches.
• the dress form measures: bust 40 inches, waist 31, hips 41
• fabric: 100% cotton canvas, dyed with professional lightfast procion dyes
• care: hand wash in cold water, dry flat. I machine washed and dried it after I finished it, so it won't shrink but will fray more if you do the same. I don't exactly recommend that, I'm just letting you know. This has a lot of dangly strings and it's likely to form a giant knot in your washer, so, uhhh, maybe not.
• hand made by me and exceedingly one-of-a-kind
