I'm as interested in the side of a canvas as I am in the front. (sometimes, more) I think it's from making objects for so many years before I started painting. I want everything to be an object, not "just" a surface.

As I was working on this painting and its cohort I started to think of 'Lipstick Traces,' that classic cultural tome, and thought yes, I'll name them after it. But I didn't look up the cover until I was done. HA! Pretty close. My brain entertains me yet again. That's really all I'm here for.
