(let's go) space mulling (come on)
This morning I gathered these together to progress to the "staring at stuff" phase. I've been mulling over, in the delicious vague sense, some small cream bags that are kind of first-aid / rescue / security themed but in cream canvas with orange details. Sort of an Orange Cross? I don't know. Then we started watching old Six Million Dollar Man episodes for comfort and distraction — and wow. For one thing they move slowly enough that if you're prone to dual-wielding other modern devices you have plenty of lag time available.
The plots barely register. Yet it's totally worth watching for, in this order: the cars, the tech (room-sized computers, teletype machines) the clothes, and then in a category all their own: the eyeglasses. If you're an eyeglass designer and have not harvested the bounty that is the Bionic Man, well, get on it. And as a bonus of course, guest stars. See also: Joanne Worley.
But my point is that last night Steve Austin went into space on a recovery mission with Farah Fawcett Majors* dressed in a related-to-my-plans orange-trimmed white space suit, so now he's somehow part of this zeitgeist. I'm working on some other clothes while this idea stews, but curious to see what, if anything, comes of this pile.
*(they at least kind of tried to not be misogynist about it)
